It all began when I wanted to give my student a simpler way to practice her vaginal exam skills on her own. So, I sent a message to a friend with a 3D printer and brilliant mind. Our two brains came together, combined our skill sets and this genius little product was born. As a midwife, as soon as I saw what we had created I knew this wasn’t just for me and my student any more. NOPE! EVERYONE was going to want one of these! Wow, was I right!? You all blew our minds and came out in droves to order them. We simply couldn’t keep up with demand with one printer. Even ordering a 2nd printer wasn’t enough!
So we hit the drawing board.

The Labor Atlas
Create a vaginal exam muscle memory map. Master cervical dilation, suture lines and fetal position chart. It has a stepped inner surface from 2-10cm. The four inserts conveniently set in the cone shaped dilation shell to represent how the infant's suture lines will present at 4, 6, 8 and 10 cm. These each can be rotated around to match up to a fetal compass rose to assist in visualizing the infant's position. Use for training and continued practice. Can even be used as a confidence builder in the field. While not pocket size, it is portable enough to keep in your birth bag or sitting in the nurses station of the L&D unit.
